The terms and conditions under which the booking for the hire of facilities at St Peter’s Church is accepted, are as follows:
- * CHILDREN MUST NOT BE LEFT UNACCOMPANIED AT ANY POINT WHILST USING OUR FACILITIES
- No persons (children included) are permitted into other parts of the building, such as upstairs floors.
- As a Church of England church, we do not accept any bookings for religious ceremonies outside of the Christian faith.
- St Peter’s Church “St Peter’s” facilities must be used for the purpose stated on the booking form. Any change to the purpose of booking must be agreed with the St Peter’s and confirmed by an amendment to the booking form.
- The car park is not to be used for anything other than parking. The hirers guests are to stay inside the building and are expected to leave quietly and without disruption to St Peter’s neighbours.
- The number of attendees must not exceed the room capacity guidelines (see Annex 1) at any time during the booking.
- The Hirer or the ‘Responsible Person’ in charge of an activity shall not be under 18 years of age and shall be on the premises for the entire period of hire or duration of the activity.
- The Hirer agrees to pay full hire charges and all costs incurred during the hire period.
- The Hirer has a duty of care for vulnerable people (including children, young people, adults their families) taking all reasonable measures to ensure that the risks of harm to vulnerable people is minimised.
- The Hirer must vacate on time and leave the facilities in a clean and tidy condition, the duration of the booking includes setting up and clearing away times.
- The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that the noise level of their functions is not such as to interfere with other activities within the building nor to cause inconvenience for the occupiers of nearby houses and property.

- The Hirer accepts full responsibility for food they bring onto the site and comply with Food Hygiene regulations.
- Any portable electrical appliances brought onto the premises must comply with Electricity At Work Regulations 1989, therefore PAT testing is the Hirer’s sole responsibility.
- No alcohol is allowed on site. St Peter’s retains the right to expel or refuse access to any persons believed to be under the influence of substance misuse.
- If, for any reason, evacuation from the building takes place during the activity / gathering or meeting the Responsible Person named on the Booking Form, (from each organisation or group) shall report to the Health & Safety Marshall at the designated Fire Assembly Point, situated by the main entrance gate, to confirm that all their attendees / staff have been evacuated.
- The Hirer is liable for any damage caused to St Peter’s facility or property
- It is the Hirer’s sole responsibility to take all proper precautions for the prevention of accidents by ensuring that Fire Exits, stairs and gangways are kept clear of obstruction at all times. Display and notice boards must be secure and placed in such a way as not to cause obstruction. Accidents must be reported to a member of the St Peter’s Church team.
- The Hirer accepts sole responsibility to ensure that all attendees comply with all applicable Health & Safety requirements. For personal safety please observe the health and safety signs throughout the building and comply with all directions given by St Peter’s Management and staff.
- St Peter’s shall have no liability for any accident to any member of the public or anyone connected to the hire. St Peter’s recommend that the Hirer carry out their own risk assessments for the booking activity and have a Public Liability Insurance in place.
- St Peter’s shall have no liability for or the loss of or damage to any property/goods brought onto the site.
- St Peter’s shall not be liable to the Hirer because of failure to perform its obligations under these terms as a result of force majeure.
- Upon Booking a deposit is required and will be refundable if the terms and conditions of the booking are upheld.
- Payment must be made in full 2 working days prior to the hire date.
- Cancellation by Hirer:
- Event cancelled 14 or less days prior to the event will be subject to the full hire rate charge.
- Event cancelled more than 14 days prior to the event will be subject to £20.00 administration charge.
- St Peter’s may cancel any booking up to 7 days prior to the Hire date. If, for whatever reason, it is necessary for St Peter’s cancel a booking, the limit of liability of St Peter’s will be to return any payment received by the date of cancellation. St Peter’s reserves the right to provide a suitable alternative facility is notified to the Hirer no later than 7 days prior to the hire date. St Peter’s shall not be liable for any costs or losses incurred by the Hirer as a result of such change.
- St Peters shall not be liable for to the hirer for any loss of profit or for any indirect or consequential loss arising as a result of or in connection with the hire of the facility.
- The total liability of St Peters in relation to these terms shall not exceed the total hire charge paid.
- Users of St Peter’s must comply with the Equality Act 2010.
- Nothing in these terms shall operate so as to exclude any liability for negligence, fraud or any other liability which cannot be lawfully excluded.
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales
